Browser Colorsafe 1.2
AUTHOR'S DESCRIPTION:
I searched the net far and wide and could find color palettes for Photoshop
and other pixel based graphics programs, but I prefer to do most graphic
work in a vector program like FreeHand and I couldn't find a stock color
palette for browser safe colors anywhere.
As we know, or should know by now, most browsers only use a small color
palette of about 216 colors. So most of the graphics that we create are
dithered on the screen. The colors found in this file are Netscape safe
colors (should be safe for most browsers) and will not be dithered on the
screen.
There are two ways to use this file. Place the B_Colorsafe.BCF file into
the colors folder inside your FreeHand folder. This will put a browsersafe
color library in your color library menu. If you would like to have all of
these colors available on your color palette right away then open the
FreeHand document B_Colorsafe.fh3 (sorry only in version 5 or higher at the moment). This document is preformatted to the standard banner ad size for web pages. You can copy the color bar to the clipboard and paste it into your existing graphic files to automatically fill your color palette.
Note: the colors in the palette are named with their hex equivalent so it's easy to match colors in your html pages.
Future versions of this file will contain palettes sorted by hue and value, as well as support for other programs.
Version 1.2 May 31, 96
* Added a color bar to the B_Colorsafe.fh3 file so colors can be copied and pasted into existing graphic files to fill the color palette
* Fixed a bug in the comments which caused some computers to freeze (go figure).
* Changed the palette to show colors in a 5x5 grid.
No warranties are implied and there are no guarantee's in this program or in life in general. If things don't go quite as expected, well that's life, nothing's perfect. I hold no responsibility for any loss of data - in other words, use at your own risk.
